Employees who exhibit symptoms at work or become sick during the day should immediately be separated from other employees, customers, and visitors and sent home. Employees who develop symptoms outside of work should notify their supervisor and stay home.

Sick employees should follow CDC-recommended steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Employees should not return to work until they have met the criteria to discontinue home isolation and have consulted with a healthcare provider.

Employers should not need sick employees to provide a COVID-19 test result or healthcare provider's note to validate their illness, qualify for sick leave, or return to work. Healthcare provider offices and medical facilities may be extremely busy and not able to provide such documentation in a timely manner. After following all the recommended CDC guidelines;

  • Contact a SERVPRO Consultant for a Certified: SERVPRO Cleaned COVID Cleaning! We have developed expertise from cleaning up some of the most challenging biohazards imaginable, including confirmed COVID-19 locations.

  • Schedule a Covid Cleaning with your local SERVPRO provider (SERVPRO of Kingsport / Bristol 423-245-5552)

Workers without close contact with the person who is sick can return to work immediately after disinfection.

If more than 7 days since the person who is sick visited or used the facility, additional cleaning and disinfection is not necessary.

 Continue routing cleaning and disinfection. This includes everyday practices that businesses and communities normally use to maintain a healthy environment.
